My Travels...

G'day one and all. A special welcome to all the folks I met along the way. Traveling wasn't as hard as I thought. Of course it helps when your traveling in style(Check out pic). I did have my own seat, but nothing is as comfy as Mummy. I enjoyed my time between flights by people watching people and stretching out my legs. Click here for a few photos in the States. We do have a few pics here for you to look at, but we were horrible about remembering to take photos, so there are whole parts of the trip we don't have any photos of (though in Georgia we didn't have the camera with us at all- little mishap)- very sorry, in advance! Below is a quick look at my travel legs.

Sydney, New South Wales, Australia
Kansas City, Kansas and Missouri, USA
Columbus, Georgia, USA
Dallas/Ft. Worth, Texas, USA
Sydney, New South Wales, Australia -- again
Cairns(Pronounced CANS), Queensland, Australia
Port Douglas, Queensland, Australia

All in all it was a good trip. My Aunt Crystal(AC) and cousin Ariel came back with us, we had so much fun. Here is a montage of those photos.

Bath Time!

I know, I know, I just posted two days ago, but I had to put my latest bathtime video in. Plus, Mum and Dad are always snapping new photos so... those are included too(Click here to check them out). The pic to the right is the latest paparazzi shot that my parents find oh so funny, but I fail to see the humor in it(Sometimes I just humor them and put them in). Hope to see you soon. Your girl, --Carly

Ghetto Carly....

This photo dad likes to call "ghetto". Click here for the latest photos of me (and the last two are videos)!

So...I know it's been a while. Sorry about that- we have just been so busy! Let's see...I had my 6 month checkup and they said I was about 8 kilos (17.6 pounds) and 70.5cm tall (27.8in). Last time when Mum and Dad weighed me, they thought I was 8.1 kilos...I must have needed a new diaper! They did those mean ole' shots again, but at least there were only 2 that time. And I'm growing up now too, so I got over it pretty fast.

Mum and Dad had their 5 year anniversary a couple of weeks ago and they went out to dinner. Carolyn came over to play with me. I decided I would go easy on her and not cry when I got tired this time. I think she appreciated my generosity.

I'm starting to do the everyday chores of eating solid foods and brushing my teeth(see pic). I've also begun 'crusin', using the couch as a crutch and walking down it. Part of trying out new things includes me screeching at the top of my lungs(much to Mum and Dad's delight). If I'm to hit those high notes like Mum, it's going to take practice, practice, practice.

The family had our pictures made this past Saturday morning. I was pretty tired so I didn't give them my best material but I did throw in a few smiles to make them happy. We will have to put some of those on here when we get them back, but that may not be until after our trip...

I've been gearing up for my big trip to the good ole US of A. I've heard a lot about it, and all the wonderful people I will be visiting. It sounds like a long trip, but it will be worth it to meet so many new people and get lots of cuddles!

Well, folks, this will probably have to hold you until we return from our big trip. I am working on editing a video but don't have it done yet. We'll see if I have time- if so, I'll put it up here for you. Mwwwwwwwwah (kisses for you)!

Flattery...

"They" say that imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, well have I got a few pics for you(Click here). You will see, like the photo posted to the right, I am copying dad's love of Coke(Seriously maybe he needs help getting off this stuff). I know that I have to wait a few years before I actually drink the Coke, but sucking on the can is good for now.

I'm still growing in weight, strength, height, and personality, according to Mum and Dad. You should see the look on Dad's face when I deracinate his hair. I hear that I have my 6 month checkup and shots in a few weeks (at least they warned me this time). I'm not really looking forward to that, but I suppose that I have to satisfy the 'powers that be' and stay healthy and all. We did an unofficial weight measurement yesterday and I was 8.1 kilos or 17.8 pounds. Today I met an 8 month old baby that I could woop!

This time, we've got the miscellaneous pics of me and my feet and hands, then pics of me in my cool new ballerina dress, several of my new teeth and the mean one that Mum took- me getting ready to wail! I've also included a video of me trying some rice cereal (that stuff is naaaaaasty- i hear it tastes a bit like glue)!

Lastly, I hear that some of you think maybe Mum or Dad has been writing this blog. I'm offended! As you can see in one of my pics, I'm quite adept at using the laptop. Glad we got that settled. =) Over and out, all my friends!

Breaking Ground...

Hello to all you out in Internet land. I know it's been a while (and sheesh, you all are demanding for news) but I have been very busy! After I got better from my flu, I got my four month vaccinations, which I was not very happy about- I thought I made it clear last time that I was not a fan. But I let Mum know and she cuddled me lots and made me feel better. I got measured and weighed at my appointment with the doctor- I was 66cm (about 26 inches) tall and 7.35kilos (About 16 pounds 3 ounces; I didn't write it down but I think that's right). But that was about 4 weeks ago, so I have even grown more since then!

The weather started getting cooler here, which was very exciting. I got to start wearing some of my winter clothes. It's a little warmer now but great for going out on walks with Mum and Dad.

The week before Easter was a bit crazy because dad was preparing for Easter Camp. Easter Camp goes from Thursday through Monday and is for all the older kids, from grades 7 through 12. Dad was activity director, doing the games and sports over the weekend. We all packed up and went to camp on Thursday and it was lots of fun! There was music and speaking and games and lots of people to play with and cuddle me! Mum, Dad and I had our very own room and we slept in our swag (see pic). Saturday night was 'Carnival' night and we dressed up- I went as myself, an angel! We got done with Easter Camp and were pretty tired. I got a cold and gave it to mum (oops)and Dad had a really bad toothache and had to stay home from work so it was a rough week!

But my new and very exciting news is that I have broken ground...on my first tooth...AND my second tooth! Yep. The first was the bottom, left front tooth and it poked through my gums last Thursday. Then my second, the bottom, right tooth, poked through on Sunday. Finally! Something to show for all that drool! I'm trying very hard to sit up on my own, but it just doesn't work sometimes and I end up on my face! But each day I impress Mum and Dad more- today I sat up on my own for a whole 4 minutes before doing a face plant. I am being told that I am very clever for being able to do these things...=)

We continue to go to mum's group and the other week mum took a picture of me with Caelen, who was born on the same day as me- he's kinda cute! =) I've been very chatty lately, so I've included a video (it's really long) I like to call 'Carly...on life.'

Well, I must go nap now...this growing stuff is hard work! xo

Take a look at my recent goings on!

Catch up time

G'day Carly enthusiasts, time to catch you up with the happenings of the youngest Henderson in Australia. The last few weeks Mum and Dad have been getting together all the documents that make me legal. These include but are not limited to: passport, social security number/card, visa, birth certificate(official and display) and taxes(well Dad actually was happy to see me show up here).

I have received my highchair from "Housing" and even though I don't quite fit yet, I still like it. I'm continuing to enjoy watching cartoons on tv, much to Mum and Dad's dismay. What can I say, I like to see things moving all the time, and if my parents can't do it I'll turn to the groove tube.

I didn't feel so well for a few days last week. We went to the doctor to make sure I was all okay and she said it was just a virus of some sort. I had my cuddles with mum (see picture) and dad and am feeling much better now. And, at least for now, I have won the battle to not sleep in that silly crib- there are a few pics of me in MY bed again. =)

I have conceded to taking a dummy (pacifier), which has worked out okay for Mum and Dad 'cause I no longer have to suck on them all the time! I still do, of course, because it always catches them off guard when I try to suck on their faces. Ha ha. I've also been known to suck on my thumb now and again. I can stand for periods of up to about a minute using the coffee table for balance, but Dad is still very close and surrounding me like a safety net..sheesh, when is he going to let me grow up?

Until next time, please enjoy these photos. CLICK HERE

Learning from Kangaroos....

Well, it's been a couple of weeks since I last 'blogged'. I've just been so busy playing with Mum and Dad and other friends, keeping up with social engagements and generally learning a lot! I have been getting much better at holding my head up on my own and am enjoying tasting just about everything that gets in my way. One day my friends Mikayla, Tani and Lisa came over with their Mum, Jess, and we all played. They taught me how great sharing is when they let me play with some of the toys they were playing with (see the pictures by clicking on the link below).

I am feeling very chatty lately and have been having great discussions about the world with Mum and Dad (see the video). They don't always understand but they will get there one day. I was getting ready to take a bath lastnight and they started messing with my hair (see pic), putting it up in funny 'dos, like Grandma Libby apparently did when Dad was little too. I didn't think it was quite as amusing as they thought it was but I let them have their fun. Today I learned to jump, jump, jump in the Jumping Joey (Jolly Jumper) that my friend Aimee loaned to me. That thing is crazy fun- I move my leg just a little bit and I turn all the way around and go up and down. I will have to try that again very soon! Well, headed to church for what Mum and Dad call "business", but it's all about being cuddled by everyone for me. It's great being me! Click here for multimedia entertainment.
